1st of July 2024, Thimphu, Bhutan: The Royal Insurance Corporation of Bhutan Limited (RICB) is launching a hassle-free and cashless Medical Insurance to meet the healthcare needs of modern Bhutanese families on the 1st of July 2024 at Pemako, Thimphu.
Our new Medical Insurance opens access to medical treatments for Bhutanese people to over 500 hospitals in India. The policy shall also cover foreigners who have been residents of Bhutan for more than six months.
Our Medical Insurance will provide medical coverage to two adults and three children under one policy. In addition to these unique and customer-centric features, the scheme offers hospital room rent within the total sum insured. It also provides free medical check-ups every two years, and in-patient hospitalisation expenses for a minimum period 24 hours, and pre-hospitalisation and post-hospitalisation for medical expenses incurred immediately before and after hospitalisation for 30/60 days.
Under Medical Insurance, the waiting period for pre-existing diseases is two years after the policy inception date. The package covers domestic road ambulance and domiciliary hospitalisations. The sum insured for Medical Insurance varies from Nu 300,000 to Nu 1,000,000.
