Started under the noble initiative of the Royal Government of Bhutan, Rural House Insurance provides protection to rural homes against all possible risks from natural disasters like fire, inundation and earthquake.
Damages, caused by wind storms, hail storms, or lightning
Impact damage caused by animals, falling trees, rock slides, or vehicles.
Only one house per individual. One-House-One-Insurance policy
Newly constructed houses shall be allowed to subscribe to the scheme twice a year. However, the insured shall pay the individual’s share of the premium in full.
Fire damages if proven intentional
Public and private Lhakhangs, Dubkhags, Guest House, etc
Losses from war, nuclear risks, malicious damage, riot, or terrorism
Houses unoccupied for more than six months ineligible for Rural House Insurance in the succeeding year
